Best Labels of 2022 | GrogTag Staff Picks

GrogTag Staff Picks For 2022

With a new year comes another chance to look back fondly on all of the awesome labels we were privileged to print up for you - and to select our favorites! The GrogTag Team had a particulary tough time this year choosing just one label each to make it into the favorites list, but we were told that our daily ration of IPA would be limited if we couldn't choose. So without further rationing ... here are our Staff Picks from 2022!

Dave’s Pick

BEER

BEER

"What is it?"
"It's BEER"
I like the simplicity of it. It reminds me of Repoman where Otto (Emilio Estevez) would drink beer brand beer. Who needs fancy artwork or clever names when you can have the beauty of truthful, transparent simplicity. We could all learn something from this beer label. It isn't your name or where you come from or how you look, but what's inside that defines you.

"What's in the can?"
"BEER!"

Embercleave

I like the full commitment of adding just about every stat available from a homebrew recipe to the label. While this information could overwhelm the label the layout is very well organized and still has room to tell a personal homebrew story. And when you're done, make sure you also put your John Hancock on that bad boy as well.

Drea's Pick

What She Says Goes

What She Says Goes

"Alexa, play Big Boys by SZA & Keke Palmer ... "

Sandra's Pick

Passion Planet

This label screams minimal and complex all at the same time. First glance you see a neat label and as you dive into the label you see facts tied with the design of the label. What is not to appreciate about a label that is artistically layed out and facts about what you are drinking? This label is awesome!

Dog With Glass of Culture

Dog With Glass of Culture

Even though this is a Coaster and not a Beer or Wine Label, I'm presenting this to the world as classic American art. The lighting, the composition, it's all perfect. In fact, the only way you could make this better would be with a cat, but that's a suggestion for another blog post.
