What to include in your homebrew label

Make your homebrew look as good as it tastes

Do you bottle your homebrew to drink at home or to gift family and friends? Then don’t leave the fruit of your dedication in unbranded, forgettable bottles – add customized labels to them.

GrogTag offers high quality printing services of your customized label designs. With a wide range of labels sizes, ideal to fit any bottle type, you are sure to find just the right one for you.

What sort of information should you include in your custom homebrew label? You can get as creative as you want - they are your labels! Here are some of the more common things that other customers have included:

Name: As homebrewers, we love naming our beers, right? This is a good time to showcase your inside joke, or blast your friends with some funny one-liners! You could create a different name for each of your batches… When choosing what your beer will be called, consider your personality, the type of homebrew it is and, if it’s for an event, the theme of the party.

Type/ Style: Style is important, so be sure to note that on the label as well. The more information your potential drinker has, the more they can learn. Don’t forget to add any interesting ingredients or process – it’s a great way to show how unique your homebrew is.

Message: Got something to say? Go for it - add a message to your label! This can relate to the occasion you are brewing for, or simply a fun or informative line about the beer.

Image: Make your label look more interesting by adding an eye-catching image. As the saying goes ‘an image is worth a thousand words’…

Net and alcohol content: Don't forget to note the size of the bottle and the ABV.

Other info you can add:

Batch information: If you are an adventurous homebrewer and are always changing your recipe to find the perfect combination, it’s worth adding some info about the batch you are bottling on the label.

Bottling date: Another useful bit of information is to add the bottling date to your label – it may seem like a small detail now, but time does fly and it can turn out to be very helpful to know when you bottled your homebrew.
