Tips & Tricks: How to use our templates to make a stylish Kombucha label

Have you drank kombucha lately?

Kombucha or fermented tea is revered for its health benefits, mostly involving digestion. It is lightly carbonated, very slightly alcoholic (less than .5%) and runs the gamut in taste from sweeter to tangy but always with a slight vinegar bite. If you get excited by all the flavors of home made ciders, you should check out kombucha.  Fruits, roots, and flowers all play off green or black teas to make some really tasty beverages. Considered fairly easy to make, once you have a good starter you can keep creating batch after batch by adding more sweetened tea after you’ve poured off your last batch. The longer it ferments, the tangier it gets. Check out our Pinterest board, Kombucha, for some recipes and tips. Kombucha is easily my favorite fermented beverage for those times its inappropriate to bring beer. Light, refreshing and much lower in calories.

And if you are gifting some homemade kombucha to friends and family, consider using one of our templates to create a quick, professional looking label that captures your style.

Using one of our designs to create a kombucha label

For this example, we’ll make a label with the Kombucha design. This is a flexible design because it has several different icons to choose from (for kombucha labels I like the bubbles), lots of different colors, and the ability to upload your own photo. But there are so many designs to choose from, reflecting all different styles and personalities. Show off your steam punk self, celebrate your pet, or put a skull and crossbones image (just to cover your bases) label on your kombucha.

First choose your size… what bottle or jar are you putting this in?

We are bottling ours in 32 oz Amber Boston Rounds. For this size, we recommend either our new Volo or the Basic label size. The Volo tends to fill the space, but (at this time) isn’t available yet in all the designs.  We chose the single front basic label size because we might want to put this in a smaller jar or swing top bottle for gifting later and we know this one label size will work for both.

Choose your template & begin to customize your kombucha label

We already know we are working with the Kombucha design but some other great options are RedRum for a simple but polished text only design, Vintage for a classic look or Hamlet for another flexible option that supports a photo upload.

Since our kombucha is lemon ginger, first we uploaded a photo of lemons in the upload your own image section.

Next, we selected a purple overlay color that we thought really would make our lemons pop. Then we played around with the different text options but finally decided on option 3, which was lavender.

We changed all the default text for delicious lemon-ginger kombucha creation. We debated on keeping the volume line open so we could write-in different amounts but liked the way it looked too much with it typed in.

Finally, we reviewed and ordered it. We think a good label makes everything taste a bit better. Enjoy!
