What are “GrogTags”?

GrogTags are labels for your homemade beer or wine that are customizable, re-useable, residue-free, and in full color.  Slap a GrogTag on your bottle and peel it right off without leaving that sticky gum behind like every other label does.  Your next batch is ready to bottle?  Take the GrogTags from your last beer and put them on your newest batch – re-use them over and over!

What are the labels made of?

Our labels are made of vinyl with a re-positionable, residue free adhesive that make re-using them easy.  Tip: when you apply your labels for the first time, keep the paper they came on.  When it comes time to remove them, store your labels on their original paper sheet.

Can I write on GrogTag labels?

That’s one of the best features, actually. Crayola Washable or Dry Erase Crayon work the best and remove with water. You can use other methods like a pencil or erasable pen, but we prefer the washable Crayola brand crayon.

My GrogTagged beers will be in an ice chest all day – will they come off?

Not until you peel them off yourself!  GrogTag’s unique adhesive keeps your custom labels stuck to wherever you stick them to – even in ice water.  Once applied to a clean, dry bottle, the label creates a nice water-tight seal, preventing the water from getting under the label and falling off.  And since they are made from vinyl rather than paper, the labels are water-resistant – meaning they will look great after sitting in that ice chest all day!

What size bottles do GrogTag beer and wine labels fit on?

GrogTags can be used on many bottle sizes and styles. 22oz and tall 12oz beer bottles work great. 12oz shorties are a bit small unless you rotate the artwork 90 degrees.  Our labels will fit on most sizes of wine bottles, as well.

How big are the Beer and Wine labels?

Beer Labels are 3.5″ x 4″ plus a necker which is roughly 3″ x 1″.
Wine Labels are 3.25″ x 3.82″ plus the back label which is 2.5″ x 3.82″.
If you are designing your own labels (not using one of our templates) than download the checklist and some guides. You can find more information on building a label from scratch HERE.

Do you make labels for growlers and kegs, too?

Well, of course we do!  All of our labels work great on fermentors, carboys, growlers and kegs. Just make sure you apply the label on a clean, dry surface.

What about coasters?

How did you know?  Many of our great GrogTag templates are available as coasters for you to customize as you wish.  We do not offer the standard “pulpboard” coasters that bend and break. Our coasters print on a 15pt felt cover, which is an uncoated felt and will provide a textured matte finish.  They are not as thick as traditional bar coasters, but we think you’ll like them better anyway.

How do I upload my own design into your template?

You can upload your graphic into an existing template – those are marked with an arrow at the bottom of the template that says “Upload Your Own Image”. If you want to design your own label from scratch, use our downloadable templates and checklist to make sure your new label comes out perfectly!

I’m a Graphic Artist/Savvy person, where can I find your native files so I can make my own design?

We’ve got a whole section for you – don’t you feel special? Download zip files with all of our wine, beer, coaster templates for Adobe Illustrator here. The bleed is built into the templates we give you so don’t add any more, but do fill up the page provided to allow for press movement or at least 1/8″ beyond the trim edge on the oval templates. Be sure to use good practices: adhere to the ’safe zone’, keeping critical art and text 1/8″ from the trim and make it 300 dpi. Get mad compliments on all your labels? More information on our guest designer program here.

I’m looking for a gift … do you have gift certificates?

Yes we do – head over to this link for our Gift Certificates.  Select the amount you wish to purchase ($20, $40, $60,  $80, or $100), and create your very own Coupon Code (please, only letter and numbers, no special characters).  Once they are activated on our end, your brand new Gift Certificate will be e-mailed to you, usually within one business day.

When I try to place an order, I get a “No Such Token” error. What’s up with that?

Without borring you with tech talk, we are aware of the issue and have temporary fix: Take a look at the URL in your browser. Try removing the part that says ‘&token=EGV370′ from the URL, which should fix the issue. The system is tracking an old order number from a previous visit. If that doesn’t work email us at support@grogtag.com.  While this doesn’t happen very often, it can crop up from time to time.

How long does it take to get my order?

Your order will ship within 3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). This does not include the time required for shipping carrier to deliver your product. In the checkout you can prioritize shipping as needed. Note, the day it ships does not count as a shipping day.
  • Overnight = 4 working days (3 production days + 1 day to ship)
  • 2-Day Service = 5 working days (3 production days + 2 days to ship)
  • 3-Day Service = 6 working days (3 production days + 3 days to ship)
  • Ground = 6-10 working days

What shipping options do you offer?

We currently offer FedEx, UPS, and USPS shipping methods.  If you are in the US, USPS will have the lowest cost, but can sometimes be unreliable.  For that reason, we recommend going with either FedEx or UPS.

Do You ship internationally?

We sure do!  We offer Priority Mail, Express Mail, UPS and FedEx options.

CMYK or RGB?

If you know what this means then you might be wondering the best format to save your file. We recommend saving your file as CMYK at 300dpi.

What about copyright infringements?

This all sounds great! I have a homebrew shop/blog/ – do you have an Affiliate Program?

We sure do!  If you have a homebrew shop or beer or wine blog,  please email support@grogtag.com for details.
